Simple Websites are the Best for Lead Generation

As the saying goes, Keep it simple stupid (KISS). This applies to most marketing and lead generation tactics. To many variables can cause failure to any marketing plan. With a simple website you will have a much easier time reaching your target audience and more importantly, getting them to use your services.

A simple website will consist of a couple pages at the most. The most important page is the landing page.

The landing page is the main entry point for the website. This page should be exactly what the website visitor is looking for. For example, If the visitor found your website from Adwords, the keywords they used in the google search should match up with the keywords on the landing page. I they are searching for “Condos in San Francisco” they should land on a page that has a list of homes already displayed, not a home search form or a main page for your real estate business.

When it comes to lead generation you want them to have three options when landing on your website.

  1. They simply Leave – Let them go, don’t worry about it right now. Eventually when you have some good traffic analysis you can optimize your landing pages to deliver better conversion rates. Remember, you land all the leads but you will be able to get a good amount of leads to work with.
  2. They fill out your contact form and request more information from you.
  3. They don’t want to work with you, yet, but they do see some valuable information on the landing page and download it. Essentially making them a lead. For more on better subscription rates see our article here.

Since these websites are very simple to make and will consists of very similar pages. You should use a website platform that allows you to make simple websites fast. Either a custom built templated system or a free software package like Wordpress.
