A streaming service that brings together shows from HBO, Warner Bros., Discovery, and other networks is called Max, which used to be called HBO Max. It has a lot of different kinds of material, like movies, TV shows, videos, live sports, and more.
It was at Madison Square Garden during the WBD Upfront that JB Perrette, President and CEO of Streaming, and Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO of HBO and Max Content, gave more information about the change that was coming.
Perrette: “We will keep focusing on what makes us different—not everything for every family member, but something unique and great for adults and families.” It’s not even subjective or debatable; our shows just hit different notes.
Bloys: “With the path we’re on and the strong momentum we’re enjoying, we think HBO Max speaks much better to our current customer proposition.” It also makes it clear that we will produce material that is known to be unique and, to borrow a phrase we used to say at HBO, worth paying for.
