The most recent open beta version of Project Zomboid, Build 42, is accessible as of August 4, 2025, and may be played by choosing to join the “unstable” beta branch on Steam. The stable version is currently Build 41.78.16. New animals, a revised map with street names, and enhanced gameplay features like vertical two-container item navigation are all included in Build 42.
